KidAroo- A New Music Festival for Kids

The Black Rock Arts Foundation announces KidAroo, a new music festival for kids, benefiting programs at San Francisco’s Yick Wo Elementary School, on Saturday, September 25.

KidAroo is a new music Festival that lets Kids rock out on the Marina Green and is a fundraiser for San Francisco’s Yick Wo Elementary School, KidAroo kicks off Sept. 25. It’s like a Lollapalooza for kids, coming to San Francisco’s Marina Green later this month. KidAroo is an all-day music festival for kids with amazing bands, jugglers, face painting, balloon animals, and more. Organizers are expecting 2,000 kids and family members to attend this unique San Francisco event.

“San Francisco is a fun city. And in that tradition, we wanted to put on a world-class music festival for all Bay Area kids,” said Christopher White, the event’s director.

Performers at the even include Choo Choo Soul, an LA band that has been featured on the Disney Channel, Chicago’s Ralph’s World, and the Sippy Cups — one of the best-known Bay Area kids’ bands.

The event runs from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m.
Saturday Sept. 25
The Little Marina Green
800 Marina Boulevard
San Francisco–across from the Exploratorium

Tickets are $20 each. A family four-pack of tickets costs just $60. They can be bought here

All proceeds from KidAroo will go to support programs at San Francisco’s Yick Wo Elementary, located at Jones and Lombard. White, like all of KidAroo’s organizers is a volunteer with Yick Wo Partent Teachers Organization.

More information about the event can be found at kidaroo.org

Entrance located at 19th Street and Minnesota

Noon until Midnight! Come early to enjoy our fantastic daytime activities!

There’s life after Playa! Hold onto that lovely playa spirit that you've brought home with you! It needs to be nurtured to be kept warm and alive. The best way to do it is at the 11th Annual SF DECOMPRESSION Heat the Street FaIRE!!!

This is shaping up to be one of the best Decom’s of all time! The Decompression Team has had an incredible response from those who want to bring their projects to the event! We are now full for theme camps, sound camps, and performers. We are still accepting submissions for art installations through September 26th. If you’d like to show your beautiful playa art at Decompression, please e-mail flambelounge@burningman.com. Bring it out for one last dusty HURRAH before next year!

10-10-10 is also a day of international climate change awareness started by 350.org. What can you bring to Decom for this "Global Work Party" to show the world that you make a difference? Have a workshop, an idea, or some new techno wizardry that you feel will make a positive impact on our climate? We'd love to hear about it and give you a space to show your stuff and save the world! See http://www.350.org/ for more details.

SEPT 26th – Deadline to submit art installations. All other areas are now full.

Decompression Needs Volunteers!

Three hundred and how many days until the man burns? That's way too many. But SF Decompression is less than three weeks away on 10/10/10.

We have a huge event full of great art, music, performance, fire, and people like you who just can't wait until next year's burn.

So you ask "what can I do to help make this event the best ever?" Answer- You can volunteer!!!
It's not too late, we still have some really fun shifts open!

We have a little form for you to fill out, so we can get all your information nice and organized. It's right here:
https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&formkey=dGJhWnhvWGJqWUJxenRDM3hGTXJySlE6MQ#gid=3

Just fill it out, and we'll get back to you when we have a shift picked out just for you.

Shifts are filling up fast so the more options you check in the form, the more likely we are to find you something.

If you've never volunteered for Burning Man, or any of our other Special Events, this is a great time to start. Volunteering is a really fun way to enjoy events like Decompression. So take the plunge: sign up, and help make it all happen. And if you are a seasoned volunteer, then stop lolligagging and sign up! Waiting until the last minute isn't going to do any of us any good!

Thanks you for all your efforts and we look forward to seeing you at Decompression!
