BURNING MAN FILM FESTIVAL IN SANTA CRUZ
THE BURNING MAN FILM FESTIVAL presented by BURNING BEACH
Saturday, October 9 -- The Rio Theater, Santa Cruz, CA
What better way to prep for the Decompression than a marathon of
Burning Man films? Burning Beach, the Santa Cruz regional group, is
hosting its third annual Burning Man Film Festival on Saturday, Oct. 9
at the Rio Theatre.
New this week: You can check out the schedule at
http://www.burningbeach.com/filmfestival2004.html .
This year's lineup includes Chuck Cirino's "Burning Man '97", the first
U.S. showing of Dadara and Jesse Limmen's "Fall and Rise of the Fools
Ark" the story of an art piece built in 2003 and burned in the Black
Rock Desert, "AstroBlaze", a piece on BM04 by perennial favorite Bill
Breithaupt, the premiere of "Firefall: The Road to Burning Man", and
the highly anticipated "Beyond Black Rock." The event, which drew 400
attendees last year, will also include installations by local Burning
Man artists.
The festival is a benefit for Burning Beach, the Santa Cruz Burning Man
regional group.
Doors open at 1:30 p.m. and the first film airs at 2 p.m. If you'd like
to join us for a post-event outdoor gathering across the street at The
Crepe Place, please RSVP so we can give the restaurant a head count and
they can staff accordingly.
Tickets: $15 at the door, $12 if you bring three cans of food, which
will be donated to the Second Harvest Food Bank. $3 of any full price
ticket will be donated to the Family Shelter Project in the name of
local burners. Children under 12 are free. For more info, visit
http://www.burningbeach.com, email santacruz@burningman.com or call

MIDWEST BURNERS HULLABALU
HullabalU II: Celestial Disembarkment
October 9, 2004 – Lawrence, KS
Coming back from a fantastic voyage through the Vault of Heaven,
intrepid Midwest psychonauts return to base for decompression, with
many stories and artifacts from our cosmic journey.
This is a free all-night afterburn event outside of Lawrence, Kansas on
October 9, 2004. Tent camping is allowed but bring everything you need
to keep yourself comfortable and to participate with. There's plenty of
space for tents, art, and alternative structures. If you plan to bring
an art structure please let us know before the event so we can include
your project in the party space. You can e-mail Zay this information by
going to the HullabalU section on http://www.midwestburners.com
Although the event officially starts at 9:00 PM, you can certainly show
up early to set up your stuff or help others set up. Keep in mind that
the peak of the party is at Midnight when we burn a straw sculpture Man
with fire dancing performances beforehand.

MICHIGAN BURNERS REUNITE POST-PLAYA
Saturday, October 9 – Warren, MI
A full night event 8:00 PM October 9 until 8:00 AM Octomber 10,
featuring all of the energy, art, food, fun, music, random costumes,
odd installations etc. that you wish to bring and share with your
fellow Michigan Burners. Please come prepared for the elements.
This is a leave no trace event -- clean up after yourself even those
pesky cigarette butts! Sorry, 18 and older this time; an all ages
gathering will be coming this winter. If you drink don't drive home
until you're sober! If you are underage, please don't drink. Fire
play is welcome outdoors, please bring safety supplies. We'll have a
bonfire so bringing wood or other (non-toxic...) items to burn would
be great! Tents, campers, 10x10 shade structures etc. are all
welcome. You are absolutely welcome to spend the whole night with us
and wakeup to Cooky's Pancake Palace in full swing.
LOCATION:
TimTV's dojo (Warren Main Ukiyo Dojo)
11380 Kaltz
Warren, Mi 48089
The building is about 3 blocks south of 10 Mile about 2 blocks west
of Hoover. You'll be in a "light industrial" area. Look for a line
of lights outlining the path to the entrance at the dojo.
We'll be using a little bit of the inside of the dojo but not much,
since we need to keep those gorgeously polished practice floors nice
and clean for the regular students. But, we will have access to real
indoor toilets. Most of the setup including the fire pit will be in
the large, nicely private fenced in area out back. This is where
you'll find the mini camp setups, the music, the fire, and the joyous
people playing and sharing and laughing.
Bringing Stuff / Doing Stuff:
If you want to bring something big like an RV, a mechanical elephant,
or a theme camp please email me directly. If you want to do something
cool and interactive please do, but if it involves permits or power or
something like that please email me to work out the logistics.
See you all on the 9th!
Cooky & Roger the Plumber

RSVP: Please send an email with your name and how many folks you think
you're bringing so we can be prepared. michiganburn@yahoo.com
