Dear friends, I'm pleased to tell you that my tenth book, The Earth Path, is
about to be released by HarperSanFrancisco. Below is a short description
and a list of local upcoming events. I invite you all to bring flyers,
petitions, and information on the events and projects you are organizing.
The book is especially relevant to environmental and genetic engineering
issues‹it was inspired partly by the realization I had in working on those
issues that most people, even those who identify as nature worshippers and
Pagans, simply didn1t have a high enough degree of ecoliteracy to fully
understand what is at stake. It also includes much of the synthesis of
earth-based spirituality and practical permaculture that I1ve been working
with in our Earth Activist Trainings. You can get review copies by emailing
Adrienne Biggs Adrienne@biggspublicity.com if you are genuinely going to do
a review of it. I1m also doing events in the Seattle area, Portland, Salem,
Oregon, Ann Arbor, Detroit, Chicago, Boulder, Denver, Western Massachusetts
and Boston, Montreal and Toronto, and more Bay Area booksignings are in the
works for November‹for a full schedule check my website at http://www.starhawk.org

events, Starhawk
The Earth Path: Grounding Our Spirits in the Rhythms of Nature, by Starhawk
HarperSanFrancisco, 2004
Hurricanes ravage the Caribbean and Florida, but climate change is not even
on the agenda of either candidate for President. Initiatives to ban the
growing of genetically modified crops our on the ballot in many California
counties, but most people are unclear on the difference between genetic
engineering and plant breeding. Even many people who call themselves Pagan
and proclaim nature as sacred are unclear on the processes by which nature
actually works. Starhawk1s new book, The Earth Path, addresses the profound
spiritual and conceptual disconnect at the root of our environmental
destructiveness, and shows how we can reroot our spirits, our politics, and
our day to day life in deep relationship with the earth.

Starhawk will speak at the Green Festival about the core of her latest book,
The Earth Path: Grounding Your Spirit in the Ryhthms of Nature From the
earliest times, respecting our interdependent relationship with nature has
been the first step toward spirituality. Earth, air, fire and water are the
four elements worshiped in many indigenous cultures and celebrated in
earth-based spiritualities such as Wicca. How do we open our eyes to the
world around us, respect nature's delicate balance, and draw upon its
tremendous powers?
