CALL FOR SUBMISSION
1) Despair Sex: We're fucking to keep from crying!
So Junior gets another four years in the White House, and we don't even know
if he won it by cheating, or the old fashioned way, by exploiting greed,
fear and ignorance. It's enough to make you want to crawl into bed for the
next few years... but not alone!
Welcome to the world of "despair sex." Want to make a small, incoherent
statement about the increasing conservatism of our country? Have really
transgressive kinky sex! Pretend we live in an enlightened country for an
hour or two, or just switch off the part of your brain that cares about
civil liberties for a while. While Bush announces his second-term cabinet
appointments, break in your new strap on. Some fuck to forget. Some fuck to
say "fuck you" to the Fucker in Chief. Some fuck to remind themselves their
bodies don't belong to HallelujahBurton yet.
Suspect Thoughts webzine wants *your* stories of despair sex. Fiction or
memoir, we don't care as long as it's hot and sexy -- and funny and/or packs
an emotional punch. No word count limits, but bear in mind people gotta read
this stuff on a computer screen! We can't pay, but Suspect Thoughts is worth
supporting and will make your piece look gorgeous.
Please send me pieces by Dec. 12. Please paste the pieces into the body of
an email and then email them to despair@charlieanders.com.
2) Applications are now available for the 2005 San Francisco Fringe
Festival
http://www.sffringe.org
Applications to perform in the 14th annual San Francisco Fringe Festival
are being accepted online only through January 11, 2005. The SF Fringe is
a non-juried festival open to all artists. Performers, in all categories,
local, national and international, will be selected at a lottery on January
26, 2005 at EXIT Theatre.
Remember, this year applications will only be accepted online. Complete
information and the online application are available at www.sffringe.org.
The SF Fringe (September 7 to 18, 2005) is the largest grass roots theater
festival in the Bay Area. Last year we presented 250 performances by 44
groups over 12 days.
