Be Nice!
We would like to announce a special Be Nice Party Two-Part Event.
First, this month marks our two year anniversary. Secondly, we are
announcing that will be is the *last* of the monthly Be Nice Parties!
After two years, we decided that the best way to keep the Be Nice
Party a fresh event is to adopt a schedule that is allows more time to
pass between events. We thought that making it a special event,
rather than a regular one, was a natural evolution to the evening. We
love to see folks come down and participate in the low-key evening,
"...very pub-like, minus the occasional loud jukebox song blaring
out..." one person put it.
So if you have not been down for a while, please join us on this
celebration of a couple years, and farewell to the monthlies. And as
always, with no expectation! :)

Cool looking extras needed for ScaryCow film
Hello fellow Burners;
I'm Brian Doom and I'm directing "The Artists," an independent film
produced by the Scary Cow film collective.
We're looking for extras to be in a few shots of our film, "The
Artists," shooting this weekend in Oakland. Show up wearing some
crazy cool rock-star outfit, or something that shrieks "eccentric
artist," and you'll be in our movie!
The best part about this is, you need not stay all day. Just show up,
sign a release, be in a few shots, and then you can go!
This scene we're shooting this weekend takes place at an opening at a
trendy art gallery. The extras are the very hip artists and art
-scenesters. Because there are few crowds that are hipper and more
artistic than Burners, I thought this would be a great source for
people to play these characters!
Step 1) Send an email (with your phone number!) to artist_extras@ghosthouse.com
to arrange when you'll be there
Step 2) Show up and sign a release!
Step 3) Stand around while we play out the scene with you in the background
Step 4) there is no Step 4

Location: The Gallery of Urban Art

When: Saturday, December 15th, 3 pm - 8 pm
What to Bring:
- ID, for us to check when you sign your actor's release
- A flamboyant outfit to wear.
Maybe not a "lights up on the playa" flamboyant, but definitely
"could be mistaken for a pimp or a rock star" flamboyant.
About The Production:
Working title: The Artists. Milo is a mopey artist in the city,
Maureen is his loud sales-y wife who wants him to "get himself out
there." Maureen has made the sale of her career convincing sinister
art collector Geraldine to buy up Milo's art. The only problem is
that Geraldine makes a habit of killing her artists to increase the
value of her collection...
The clip we are filming this weekend will be available for viewing
(once edited) at scarycow.com .
