Green smoothies are yummy!
For that way humans get the bulk of greens they need.
Green smoothie means goto farmers mkt end of day and
buy whatever organic greens are cheap or free,
and whatever fruits are cheap or free, and putting into blender. Yum.

Some weeks ago, I posted in how AOL now owns the transcripts of your chats
in AIM thorough a change/update in their user agreement. Agreement updates
that most of us probably just nod about and delete when we see them come
through. As a result, I stopped using AIM.
However, chatting is cool. What to do?
Jabber is a free, open source, NON-cetralized chat technology with all the
bells and whistles of all the other services. You can check them out here:
http://www.jabber.org
They are not "owned" by anyone, really--and therefore, neither are your
conversations. You can use any of the multi-chat service clients [I use fire
for os x 10.3 from epicware] for Jabber, and jabber lists them, the servers
you can use them on, etc.
I am on jabber.org as "spiritliberated" as I am on all the other services.
Be well. Happy chatting in private. :) --

# Flyering: Friday, April 15th, 2-5:30,
Fox Plaza Post office 1390 Market St. SF
If you would like to join me on Friday, April 15, I will be handing out
the "Peace Tax Return" along with information about phone tax resistance outside of the post office at Fox Plaza at 1390 Market Street in San Francisco. I'll be there from 1:30 until 5:30, and would love some company. I am envisioning a non-confrontational presence that helps inform people of positive actions they can take whether or not they pay full taxes this year.
Please let me know if you plan on showing up, and if you'd like to take on an extra task: making a sign, bringing snacks, beginning an earlier shift, bringing envelopes pre-adressed to the IRS, etc.
Hope to see you there! Brent Armendinger

Although we'll certainly be dancing and playing with our friends, please be aware that this is NOT A RAVE or dance party.

# KQED airing The Emotional World of Farmed Animals
This was filmed primarily at Farm Sanctuary and Animal Place in CA.
There is no graphic footage. This is a nice way to show people who
are unfamiliar with farm animals, that they are just as feeling and
emotional as the animals we call pets. Beautifully done, thumbs up!
The Emotional World of Farmed Animals
Showing April 17th at 6 PM on KQED ch. 9 / PBS
The Emotional World of Farm Animals is a delightful documentary for
viewers of all ages about the thinking and feeling side of animals
that are all too often just viewed as food.
Jefferey Masson, author of When Elephants Weep and Dogs Never Lie
About Love, leads viewers through the personal journey he underwent
while writing his latest book, The Pig Who Sang to The Moon. This
journey into the sentient, emotional lives of farm animals brings
Masson to animal sanctuaries around the country where caregivers and
the animals themselves tell their harrowing stories of rescue and
escape . Masson delves into the rich ancestry of these curious and
intelligent animals and interviews top experts in animal behavior who
offer scientific perspectives on these amazing creatures.

# C-SPAN To Break 9-11 Info Blackout. WATCH C-SPAN MONDAY 4-18
Watch for this on C-SPAN on Monday!! (before Ray Griffen gets "suicided"!)
Ray Griffen is a theologian and professor and has written two books on 9/11.
That C-SPAN is carrying this is a BIG deal because this is the first time the official version of the events of 9-11 will be challenged on national TV. Up till now there has been a media blackout on challenging alternate views of what happened on 9-11. It should be worth recording too so set your VCRs or Tivos.
(Sorry I don't know the exact time it's coming on yet so you'll have to watch for it Monday night 4-18)

C-Span to Cover 9/11 Truth Talk at UW-Madison Monday!
Kevin Barrett, 12.04.2005 21:14
C-Span will challenge the official version of the 9/11 "terrorist attacks" with a nationwide delayed broadcast of a talk by David Ray Griffin at U.W.-Madison Monday 4/18/05, 7:30 p.m., in 272 Bascom Hall. The public is invited to attend, and admission is free.
Griffin's The New Pearl Harbor sparked the 9/11 Truth Movement
The nationwide news network C-span has broken the blackout on the 9/11 truth movement, raising hopes that other media outlets will follow, by deciding to broadcast a lecture by David Ray Griffin in Madison Monday night. An acclaimed philosopher-theologian and author of the 9/11 truth blockbusters The New Pearl Harbor and The 9/11 Commission Report: Omissions and Distortions, Dr. Griffin will be making a rare public appearance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison Monday night, April 18th. at 7:30 p.m. in 272 Bascom Hall. His brand-new talk, entitled "9/11 and the American Empire: How Should Religious People Respond?" will focus on the ethical and spiritual dimension of facing the overwhelming evidence that the Bush Administration was complicit in the attacks of September 11th, 2001. His Madison appearance celebrates the founding of the new group MUJCA-NET: Muslim-Jewish-Christian Alliance for 9/11 Truth: http://mujca.com.
Two related events will precede the Griffin talk: A discussion of David Griffin's 9/11 books will be held on Sunday, April 17th, 2-4 p.m.at Peregrine Forum, 616 S. Brearly St., Madison, WI (608) 442-4399; and a benefit dinner for the Griffin talk and MUJCA-NET will be held at Catacombs Coffee House, directly across from Memorial Library on the U.W.-Madison campus from 5 to 7 p.m. on Monday 4/18, right before the talk. Tent University Santa Cruz April 18-22
UC Santa Cruz, base of campus
Hundreds of students, faculty, staff, and community
members will gather at the base of the UC Santa Cruz
campus to form a giant tent city, symbolizing the
displacement of higher education in our state. The
initial reason for our gathering is the unjust budget
priorities that manifest at our campus. Our goal is to
catalyze a grassroots cultural revolution.
In part, Tent University will serve as an alternative
university, one based on principles of solidarity,
community, and creativity. UCSC faculty will lead
their classes there, rather than in their classrooms;
representatives of various community organizations and
movements will hold teach-ins and workshops; and
students will teach their own classes on a wide
variety of subjects.
Tent University will also be the biggest cultural
festival of the year at our campus. The most popular
bands in town and numerous student and community
creative clubs will perform.
Most important, Tent University will mark the largest
political gathering in the recent history of UCSC. The
University's 500 or so clerical and service workers
will hold a strike the previous week, and they will
use TUSC as an encampment to continue their ongoing
struggle for fair wages and treatment. A student
walk-out will take place that week as well, and it
will utilize Tent University as its central gathering
place. UCSC's many other vibrant social change
movements will likewise take part in the Tent U
convergence. The final two days of the event, everyone
in attendance will apply the principles of direct
democracy in collectively creating a political
platform around which the entire Santa Cruz community
will seek to unite.
The week of April 18th, we will converge at the base
of UCSC to claim the university and the Santa Cruz
community as our own. Join us.

# IRV rally against Diebold! Tues Apr 19 in Oakland at noon!
BAY AREA IRV SUPPORTERS -- PLEASE COME!
Tuesday, April 19 at Noon - 1221 Oak Street in Oakland
Rally to stand up and tell Diebold:
"DIEBOLD, STOP KILLING IRV! DIEBOLD, WE'VE HAD ENOUGH!"
Support instant runoff voting in Alameda County! We need County
Registrar Brad Clark and the Alameda Board of Supervisors to GET TOUGH
WITH DIEBOLD!
Gather in the plaza of the County Administration Building at 1221 Oak
St. (four blocks from Lake Merritt BART station on Oak St.)
FLIER:
http://oakprefvote.home.igc.org/april19flier.pdf
BACKGROUND: THE CITIZENS CHOSE IRV...
Berkeley voters overwhelmingly passed IRV by 72% last March (Measure
I). Oakland and San Leandro voters also approved IRV. IRV would save
these cities several hundreds of thousands of dollars, provide majority
rule, cut down on negative campaigning, and empower voters!
BUT DIEBOLD IS KILLING IT.
Diebold is thwarting the will of the voters and stonewalling IRV.
Diebold recently quoted the county an IRV price tag of $2 million
dollars. Diebold also told city and county officials they can't start
IRV development for a whole year.
IS DIEBOLD LYING -- AGAIN?
How can they be charging $2 million? Diebold told Alameda
County in their bid to get the contract that their equipment can
"easily be programmed for IRV." Diebold has already demonstrated IRV
on their touch-screen equipment. Diebold already runs IRV elections in
places like Cambridge, MA and Ireland. Diebold quoted Burlington, VT
much cheaper figures for IRV. Outside elections experts peg the IRV
upgrade at no more than $50,000. Just 5 months ago Attorney General Bill
Lockyer filed a $2.6 million settlement with Diebold for a lawsuit
alleging "the Texas-based firm provided false information to obtain
payments from the state and counties for its electronic voting
equipment." Is Diebold lying for money again?
