BIKE TO THE FUTURE - Time: Meet at 10:00 a.m., leave at 11:00 a.m. Location: Three Locations - Mill Valley Community Center parking lot, San Rafael's 4th Street Plaza, Fairfax at old Albertson's Parking Lot. What: Bike to the Future is designed to get people out of their cars and onto their bikes on a more daily bases. The Fairfax Open Space Committee was founded three years ago to preserve open space in and around Fairfax. The committee was key in acquiring a pristine nine-acre redwood grove, home to spotted owls, in Cascade Canyon.
The Committee’s goals include saving natural lands for recreation and wildlife corridors and linking our town’s open spaces with existing Marin open spaces wherever possible. We are working in collaboration with other groups in an effort to acquire, for open space, 100 acres of beautiful ridgeline property with meadows and woods that overlooks the northern borders of our town.
Our third annual benefit on April 21st is to help raise awareness and funds for these projects, which will preserve our beautiful natural environment for future generations.

LA PEÑA COMMUNITY CHORUS
The La Peña Community Chorus will perform at the Larkspur Café Theatre on Their program will combine traditional black Peruvian and indigenous Andean music, as well as slides from their recent tour of Peru.
Founded in 1978 by Chilean refugees at La Peña Cultural Center in Berkeley, the Chorus sings songs in support of peoples' struggles for peace and social justice. They are known throughout the Bay Area for their Latin American New Song (Nueva Cancion) repertoire, and they have traveled to Chile, Cuba, and Mexico to share their stories, songs, and images.
The Theatre is located at 500 Magnolia Avenue, Larkspur. Doors open at 5:30 for dinner before the show. Tickets are $25, not including dinner. There is no reserved seating. She has been an anti-war activist ever since, working with Cindy Sheehan at Camp Casey and Medea Benjamin with CodePink. Her visit to Sonoma County is sponsored by the Sonoma Peace & Justice Center and Project Censored.

Unitarian Universalist Congregation, 240 Channing Way, San Rafael. Beverages and socializing will begin at 6pm, followed by a catered dinner from West End Cafe at 7pm, with the meeting and keynote speaker starting at 7:30pm.
Keynote speaker: Heidi Kuhn, founder and CEO of Roots of Peace, is our dynamic keynote speaker this year. Heidi Kuhn was deeply inspired in September 1997 to create an organization dedicated to the eradication of landmines worldwide. With a simple toast in the living room of her home that the world may go from Mines to Vines, a global initiative was launched from the heart of a mother of four children following the death of the late Princess Diana who catapulted the issue of landmines to the forefront of the international agenda.
The Task Forces of the Social Justice Center will give brief reports, and current board members will be introduced. We hope to have new board members to introduce and vote on as well. Our newly founded Advisory Board will be welcomed and introduced also.
Admission is $45 with no one turned away for lack of funds.

Studded with guard towers and armaments, and encrusted with high-tech sensors, the wall separates Palestinians from their own farms, their own neighbors, and from the Israeli settlements subsidized lavishly by the Israeli government.
