Wed June 13 Multifamily Energy Efficiency and Green Building in the Bay Area
Pacific Energy Center, 851 Howard Street, SF, CA 94103
6:30 PM - 8:00 PM Light refreshments available at 6:00 pm
California's T-24 2005 building code presents new challenges for multifamily projects! Come see what some Bay Area multifamily housing projects are pursing in order to exceed the current energy code by at least 15%. Heather Larson, project manager of the California Multifamily New Homes (CMFNH) program sponsored by PG&E, will present case studies and analysis of qualifying high-rise and low-rise projects, in Climate Zone 3, with and without air conditioning. The California Multifamily New Homes Program offers cash incentives and technical design assistance toward exceeding the code by at least 15%. Achieving this threshold opens the door to additional opportunities, including ENERGY STAR marketing benefits, the New Solar Homes Partnership, and Green building certification. Tenaya Asan of Build It Green will cover the GreenPoint Rated program, a third-party rating system providing an evaluation of green practices within the multifamily project. She will discuss what it is, how!
it works, and the benefit to the builder and community. She will review some case studies of GreenPoint Rated projects.

Dolores Park Movie Night: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly

THURSDAY JUNE 14th: Squat Movie Night
Shelter: a Squatumentary (rough cut, first showing) - 45 min.
With universally skyrocketing property values, rent and home-ownership have become unaffordable at best and impossible at worst. Thus, people all over the world continue a long tradition of circumventing the expensive price tag and reclaiming this basic human right by squatting. Shelter: a Squatumentary, by Hannah E. Dobbz, is a documentary film that explores the squatting movement in the East Bay from 2004 to 2007. We follow three examples of the struggle for housing in an unaffordable marketplace such as the San Francisco Bay Area. Hellarity House, Banana House, and Power Machine are stories of squatters who have found one tentative solution to the ongoing housing crisis.
Dark Days - 84 min.
Documentarian Marc Singer focuses his camera on a group of homeless people who live deep underground in an abandoned New York City railroad tunnel. By day, they scavenge for food on the mean streets of Manhattan. At night, they retreat to the tunnel, where they've built huts out of scrap metal, plastic and plywood. Amazingly, they have electricity, furniture, working kitchens and a sense of community many surface dwellers would envy.

Center for Sex and Culture (http://www.sexandculture.org)
290 Division St, #405 (between Tenth and Brannan)
$5-$20 sliding scale, no one turned away for lack of funds
18+ -- People of all genders and orientations welcome
Queer presenters, live models, a safe space to ask questions... this workshop is the perfect opportunity for gay men to learn about vulvas, vaginas, clits, cunts, g-spots, inny-holes, bonus holes, cooters, tranny boners, clit boners, or whatever you call yours.
So, for anyone who plans to be a dad and wants to learn a little more about the inner workings of a baby-maker, or ran into a smokin' hot tranny-boy at a bar and is hoping to impress between the sheets, or is simply sick of not knowing what's going on when your roommates start talking about tampons -- come to Cunts for Fags. You'll leave knowing more about vaginas than the vast majority of straight boys.
What’s a vulva? What does it look like? What's a hymen? Is anal sex fun without a prostate? What’s up with the g-spot? What does it feel like? Why do lesbians love hands? What is female ejaculation? How does it work? What’s with the bleeding? How do orgasms work? What's a clitoris? Is friction ever good? What’s a cervix? Does size matter? Is lube necessary? What shape is a vagina? What makes clits happy? How does arousal happen? Does licking the alphabet work? What makes it wet? Is there a taint? Is it fun? Is there a difference between a clitoral and a vaginal orgasm? What kind of lube is best for vaginas? What makes these genitals happy?
