Event

Castro is safest. Bring a bike.
SF Folsom st Fair parking
Daytime daylight parking far safer than night.
I would often park on a frontage road right by Folsom and 13th under the freeway. That was always safe as there were hundreds of festival goers walking by. Daytime safer.
Night is far more risky after darkness.

I’ve had my car broken into six times in SF
I could draw you a map, but you could save yourself the trouble and just go to
Spotcrime.org
I see you have found a secure a lot and that’s fine but I am posting this for others who may also park for Folsom

Unless you’re going to an after party at holy cow on Folsom and 12th 20s crowd mixed or BAGG till 2am 20s 30s or
You may want to end up partying in the Castro that evening anyway till 2am 20s 30s 40s
Honestly, Castro is the only safe neighborhood in San Francisco with nightlife where you can dance dine and drink all night long till 2 AM
And not worry as much about your car

Holy cow was very mixed 50/50 m/f 50% Latino?
20/20/10 Black white asian
Lots of costumes and Burningman peeps many 100s in attendance indoor outdoor smoking patio out back very sexy till 2am

SF closes at 2am. Last call 1:45 after parties at clubs with cabaret license to sell alcohol after 2 AM are always in sketchy neighborhoods
End up 6th Harrison
1015 Folsom 6th Folsom free rats chevron dumpster
Closed post covid? (Badlands Closed)
Even Marin @ Cesar Chavez SF where gangs dump and torch stolen cars.

No neighborhood is perfectly safe and each year gets worse
But Castro was always safest due to the fact of having hundreds of activists walking around at all times

If you have a van it’s easy enough to toss an old bike in there park in a safe neighborhood like Castro and bike to whatever destination you want
I did that for decades, and that approach never failed me. Excellent for .com era SOMA Moscone
Free parking too!

Beware SF no longer has free parking Sundays!
Most hoods now meter 7d. Check parking maps.
Ecosia.org

My car was stolen at 633 Florida st SF
Also SF sucks as they wrote me several tickets but did not inform me they’d found my car.

Tangent if you live in SF, car stolen in SF, recovered in SF then no fees. Late 1990s

My car was Broken into at:
Folsom at 7th SF rawhide swing shift <2am plants and flower pots were left on sidewalk
Larkin @ Eddy SF Backflip late night >2am?
Lost antiques. talked to black male 30s adult carrying my retro 70s lamp. He said “it was broken when I got there!” Window.
Lost best Tools CDS DVDs well hidden
Ace Auto Wreckers Toland SF afternoon phone.
Employee said “Chinese” known problem.
Delaney st SF under Bryant overpass early eve
Lost wallet but crack head? spilled my $320 cash on floor in plain sight. Ash tray emptied of coins in most of these thefts. Typical crackhead.
East Palo Alto Junkyard daytime donuts tools

Recap. Sf danger. Castro Safe.
West SF safer than East SF in fact, if you ever go to an event in SF Mission, every block West you Park is one block safer. So if you were going to an event on Mission or Valencia, you would want to park on Dolores church Castro.

Always observe parking signs SF hours tix tow.
Always scan gutter on block you park for glass.

Do not leave valuables in car. Even a water bottle, empty brown paper, bag, or charging cable can get your windows, smashed.
Let alone, actual suitcase, luggage, purse bags, or other, highly attractive lucrative Temptations
