The 9th Annual "How Berkeley Can You Be?" Parade & Festival
Grand Parade (11am-1pm, University Avenue above Sacramento)
The World’s Zaniest Parade returns with a new theme of “Loco-Motion!”
focusing on unusual,
alternative, and crazy ways of moving around. Music, dance, comedy,
tragedy, politics,
costumes, puppets, floats, art cars, magic and more bring the oddly
amusing and bizarrely
beautiful to a street near you!
Festival (12:30-5pm, in & around Civic Center Park)
Arts & crafts vendors, food, libations, art installations, games, kids
activities, non-profit
organizations, and more. This year we’re working with the Berkeley
Department of
Transportation to expand our street closure area (from MLK up to
Shattuck Ave) in
celebration of International Car-Free Day...envision a world where the
only cars are Art!
