Ralph Metzner, Ph.D. who has a B.A. in philosophy and psychology from Oxford University and a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Harvard University, has been involved in the study of transformation of consciousness ever since, as a graduate student, he worked with Timothy Leary and Richard Alpert (later Ram Dass) on the Harvard Psilocybin Projects. He co-wrote The Psychedelic Experience, and was editor of The Psychedelic Review.

Sean Kelly received his Ph.D. (1988) in Religious Studies from the University of Ottawa and has taught in the Departments of Religious Studies at the University of Windsor, the University of Ottawa, and Carleton University. His current areas of interest include the evolution of consciousness, integral theories, eco-philosophy, Romanticism and Idealism, new paradigm studies, Jungian psychology, transpersonal theory, and subtle activism.

Richard Tarnas is the founding director of the Philosophy, Cosmology, and Consciousness program. He is the author of The Passion of the Western Mind (1991) and Cosmos and Psyche: Intimations of a New World View (2006). Richard's research interests include the history of Western thought and culture, the evolution of consciousness, the interface of philosophy and psychology, epistemology and cosmology, new paradigm studies, depth psychology psychedelic research, and archetypal astrology.

David Ulansey received his Ph.D. (1984) in Religion from Princeton University. David is a historian of religion specializing in the religions of the ancient Mediterranean. He is particularly interested in the Mystery Religions, Gnosticism, Hermeticism, ancient cosmology, and the relationship between religion, myth, and the evolution of consciousness.

Robin Sylvan, Ph.D., is the founder and director of the Sacred Center. His current work focuses on the connection between music, dance, spirituality, and religion, and the cutting edge of that work is exploring how to create a sacred container to focus the incredibly powerful altered states of consciousness and energies generated by trance dancing to electronic dance music. His new book, Trance Formation: The Spiritual and Religious Dimensions of Global Rave Culture, has just been published by Routledge. Trance Formation is an ethnographically rich look into the spiritual dimensions of rave culture from a theoretically informed religious studies perspective.

Entheogen: Awakening the Divine Within is a feature length documentary which invites the viewer to rediscover an enchanted cosmos in the modern world by awakening to the divine within.

The film examines the re-emergence of archaic techniques of ecstacy in the modern world by weaving a synthesis of ecological and evolutionary awareness, electronic dance culture, and the current pharmacological re-evaluation of entheogenic compounds. Within a narrative framework that imagines consciousness itself to be evolving, Entheogen documents the emergence of techno-shamanism in the post-modern world that frames the following questions:

How can a renewal of ancient initiatory rites of passage alleviate our ecological crisis? What do trance dancing and festivals celebrating unbridled artistic expression speak to in our collective psyche? How do we re-invent ourselves in a disenchanted world from which God has long ago withdrawn? Entheogen invites the viewer to consider that the answers to these questions lie within the consciousness of each and every human being, and are accessible if only we give ourselves permission to awaken to the divine within.
