Tue Feb 5 7pm Ask a Scientist Special Event: PHAT TUESDAY PHYSICS CIRCUS!
Axis Cafe & Gallery 1201 Eighth St@ 16th St. SF.
Come join ringmaster Zeke Kossover and his crew of sensational sideshow scientists as they (and YOU) perform dazzling demonstrations that illustrate physical principles! Watch, and listen, as sound shatters a wine glass! Ride a hovercraft! Turn on an electric pickle! Try to look at invisible glass! Witness the stopping of time! (Ok, not time exactly, but the hands of a watch.) Zeke and his crew will astound, amaze and explain, every step of the way. Can you think of a more appropriate way to celebrate Mardi Gras, than sledgehammering a bed of nails into the chest of a physics teacher from New Orleans? I sure can't!
ABOUT THE SERIES: Ask a Scientist is an informative, entertaining, casual science lecture series, held at a San Francisco cafe. Each event features a speaker on a current topic, a short presentation, and the opportunity to ask all those burning questions that have been keeping you up at night. No tests, grades, or pressure…just food, drinks, socializing, and conversation about the universe’s most fascinating mysteries.

Hey All, I HIGHLY recommend this talk. It's time to Activate in 2008! It's Tuesday nite, don't miss it!
Unlock the Life of Your Dreams
Do you want more from life? Are you curious why you're here? Do you sometimes have the feeling that there's something bigger and more fulfilling that you're supposed to be doing? Many people experience this sense of calling, the desire to be part of something larger and more significant. Unfortunately, the myriad books available give little or no guidance on how to actually find your life's purpose!
Join life purpose expert Tim Kelley for an inspiring and enlightening evening. This renowned author and speaker will show you the path to greater fulfillment, success and meaning in life. Much more than an inspiring talk, Tim will reveal secrets about life purpose that you can't find in any other book or seminar! In this evening, you will learn:
    * The #1 obstacle to finding your purpose, and three strategies for dealing with it
    * Seven different methods for finding your purpose
    * The three aspects of purpose, and how each one affects your life
    * How to use your purpose to transform your life
Don't miss this rare opportunity to change the course of your life! People who know their purpose are more fulfilled, more inspired, and often more successful than the rest of us. Let your purpose guide you to a new, more fulfilling life!

Pre-Valentine's Eye Gazing Party Tuesday, February 12th, 6:30-8:30PM
Destiny Lounge at the Temple Nightclub For single men and women 21+
Neo will be hosting the party at the gorgeous Temple nightclub (www.templesf.com) with Buddha statues throughout.
Here's how the party works: After a fun mini-lesson in the art of eye contact, people splits into pairs, and each pair spends two minutes looking into each other's eyes, no talking, with inviting beats in the background.
You then switch partners every two minutes for a total of 7 partners before mingling for 15 minutes. This cycle is repeated 3 times. The energy after deep soul gazing is absolutely electric! Come find out for yourself how potently pleasurable the experience can be!
Space is limited so you must register to attend the event! The last party was sold out 2 days after it was posted.
The event also needs to be gender balanced which means that if you registered later than others, and we have an excess of your gender attending, then you might not be able to attend, and I will refund your $15.
To sign up for the event, go to http://www.eyegazingparties.com/sf.html
It would be amazing to broadcast to the world the presence, connection, and love that is possible on Valentine's day with the help of large press! Get your amazing friends to the party! See you soon! Neo

Panama Pacific International Exposition of 1915 with Nancy DeStefanis
Lecture/Slideshow and musical performances on ukelele
Learn about the Panama Pacific International Exposition of 1915 in San Francisco’s Marina District.
Only the Palace of Fine Arts remains, and it is now undergoing renovation.
The Hawaii Pavilion at the 1915 Exposition introduced the ukulele and the music of Hawaii to the world.
Ka’ala Carmack, Honolulu-born, is an accomplished musician and singer. He is the founder and instructor of the ukulele and Hawaiian singing ensemble J-Town Hui, and will perform songs with many of his students.
If the audience had been able to squeeze into the Hawaii Pavilion 92 years ago, this is the music they might have heard!

So, all you videophiles, let's watch the Oscars in the company of your Sierra Singles friends. I do have a wall mounted 40" LCD high definition TV for your viewing pleasure. We'll have a little pool for those who wish to participate. Guess the most winners in the Best Supporting & Best Actor & Actress, Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Song and Documentary Feature categories and you win the pool. Go to http://www.oscar.com/nominees/?pn=ballot to find out who's nominated in these (and other) categories and email me your selections or arrive before the first Oscar (Broadcast begins at 5:00pm and ends at 8:00pm) is awarded and fill out & email your ballot. Or send me an email and I'll send you the ballot. You pay the entry fee when you arrive. Cost to enter pool will be $2, so you won't win a king's ransom, but you will have the glory of winning. Bring some food in the following categories to share: 1) Appetizers 2) Main Course 3) Drinks 4) Desserts. (Hint: There's never enough Main Courses). I'll provide plasticware, plates, and cups. So, we'll have dinner during the Award ceremonies. This is a "leave your shoes at the door" event, so bring some sox or slippers if your tiny toes tend to get cold. Yep! I'm a glutton for punishment. I've hosted a few events in February, but I'll take some time off after this. CoListed with Jewish Hiking Club. Directions: Get to the corner of Wolfe Road and Fremont Ave in Sunnyvale (It's less than 100 yards from Wolfe and El Camino Real). No need to RSVP, just come and enjoy. Leader: Jack Borok Email: zchok@aol.com. Phone number for day of event….408-245-7476
