Aaron's Preparedness Tip of the Week - #1 -Store what you eat.- WATER TOO!
If you like black beans and eat them a lot, buy more than you usually buy. If you like particular types of soup, or TastyBites from Trader Joes, or chips and crackers...next time just buy a few more than you usually would. That way, you can easily keep rotating your food supply and, if you ever need it in an emergency, you will have the food you are used to eating, which will be a big relief.
So maybe you don't use a lot of canned and packaged food. Great. Well, buy some anyway. Try to store enough food for yourself to subsist for a month - at least a week. Try to buy stuff you will eat before it needs to be replaced. (Most foods you really should replace at least once a year.)
Storing (non-perishable) food is easy. Just buy more of what you usually buy. If you are working with a tight budget, just try to buy one or two extra items every time you shop.

Thursday, March 13th: Art Opening with Monica Lundy at the Polk Street Gallery
Good Vibrations is proud to present Monica Lundy in our Polk Street Gallery. Join the artist and friends for a special reception of the artist’s figure paintings. Monica explains: “The body is the source of human experience. My objective is to explore my relationship to and interpretation of the body. Inspired by the topography of the body, I "sculpt" thick oil paint with palette knives according to how I perceive volume and form. Working with the palette knife also allows decisive mixing and application of subtle variations in paint color. Analyzing and reconstructing colors and the movement of skin intrigue me.”

Santa Cruz 9/11 Truth News "Z-Day" March 15th, 2008

On March 15th - together with the West County Toxics Coalition,
Greenaction, Amazon Watch, the Richmond Progressive Alliance, the Richmond
Greens, Communities for a Better Environment, Community Health Initiative,
and many other community organizations - we will be organizing a rally and
non-violent direct action at the Chevron refinery in Richmond. We will
holding a rally at Carroll Park (W. Cutting Blvd. and S. Garrard Blvd. in
Richmond) at 11am, and then doing a direct action at the Chevron refinery
(100 Chevron Way in Richmond) at 1pm.
Chevron is a leading war profiteer, as well as one of the biggest Bay Area
polluters. Internationally, Chevron is driving the war and occupation in
Iraq, refining over a million barrels of stolen Iraqi oil in Richmond a
month, and actively lobbying for the privatization of Iraq's oil fields so
that massive oil corporations can seize control of them. Locally, their
planned refinery expansion will increase pollution and cause asthma,
cancer and rising death rates, both in Richmond and in surrounding
communities (as far away as 30 miles).
We will take action against Chevron on March 15th, in order to send a
clear message to Chevron: Stop stealing Iraqi oil, and stop polluting our
communities!
Please join us, and help take action against Chevron! Visit our website

Huge Direct Action for March 19 fifth anniversary of the war is rapidly approaching
On the morning of March 19th, we will be organizing multiple direct

Iraq. (For a "menu" of these offices, please see our website

We will take direct action on March 19th against as many of these
locations as possible, in order to send a clear message to the economic
and political decision-makers that control this country: No BUSINESS AS
USUAL until all U.S. troops are withdrawn from Iraq!
Please join us, and help take action against Bay Area war profiteers!

Spectra Ball April 5 8pm Regency Center 1299 Sutter @ Van Ness, SF
Spectra Ball is a creative spectacle that brings together the spectrum of the arts with dynamic multi-cultural performances of music, theater, dance, circus, spoken word, fashion and visual art installations, all on one glorious night with a crowd of thousands.
Spectra Ball is a 21 & Over Event. What to wear? Don?t be fooled by the term ?Ball?? they?re not going formal, they?re going ?Spectra Wear?. Anything and everything with color (no black and white please!) is in! Costumes? Absolutely! After all, it?s San Francisco. Food? Tickets to Spectra Ball do not include food, but they?ll have a food vendor in case. Try to have dinner in advance at one of San Francisco?s fine local dining establishments so that you can fully realize the experience of consuming as much art and performance as possible throughout the evening.
