THIS WEEKEND
DECEMBER 8 AND 10 - MPJC PRESENTS:
A Weekend Double Header featuring war refusers, whistleblowers and truth-tellers...

Fri. December 8, 7:30 - 9:30 pm (doors open at 7pm)
Courage to Resist – Unjust Wars
Darrell Anderson, Iraq Veteran and War Resister
Plus documentary film “The Ground Truth”
Iraq war veteran Darrell Anderson will be speaking at Student Services Building (cafeteria) College of Marin, Kentfield.
The event, sponsored by Students for Social Responsibility, MPJC and Courage to Resist, an organization dedicated to supporting those within the military who resist the war in Iraq.
Darrell Anderson was deployed to Iraq with the Army's 1st Armored Division in the spring of 2004. Darrell served most of his time in Baghdad where, after serving for seven months, he was wounded by a roadside bomb. Recovered from his physical wounds and facing the possibility of a second deployment to Iraq, Anderson made the difficult decision to go to Canada, rather than return to Iraq to participate further in the abuse and killing of Iraqi civilians. In explaining his decision to desert, Anderson said, "I believed it was my human right to choose not to kill innocent people."
