Unrestricted Warfare: 9/11 Treason
• The story surrounding the murder of Raymond Lemme is a complicated one, touching upon the software-driven vote fraud in the 2004 election, Chinese influence inside the neocon / Cheney network, Christian Dominionist ambitions, and the pedophilia rings that go back to the Franklin Credit Union coverup during the G.H.W. Bush administration. FTW\'s purpose in running this material is not to urge our readers to follow out every nuance - other sites are pursuing it including http://www.onlinejournal.com and the Seminole Chronicle. # Honoring and Celebrating the Life of Human-Rights Activist Marla Ruzicka
Tues May 3 7:30 PM Women\'s Building 3543 18th Street @ Valencia SF, CA (415) 255-7296
Please join us on this very special evening to honor and celebrate the life and work of Marla Ruzicka, former Bay-Area activist, friend, and colleague who was killed in Baghdad on Saturday, April 16. Marla\'s work in Afghanistan and Iraq with her organization Campaign for Innocent Victims In Conflict (CIVIC) brought much needed attention to the all too often overlooked civilian deaths and losses suffered during these wars. Marla will be remembered for her tireless work for justice and also for her unyielding zest for life, remarkable capacity for joy, and deep loyalty to friends and family. Her spirit will leave an indelible mark in the world. * To help, please call Global Exchange at 415.255.7296 *
http://globalexchange.org
***************************
In Memory of Marla Ruzicka 1976 - 2005
Bay Area activist Marla Ruzicka spent her 28-year life fighting tirelessly for justice. She began organizing and educating her peers about social and environmental issues when she was in high school, bringing in speakers to her school and volunteering her time with various organizations. Marla later worked with AIDS victims in Zimbabwe, refugees in Palestine and campesinos in Nicaragua.
Following the US invasion of Afghanistan, Marla traveled there with Global Exchange and was so moved by the plight of the civilian victims that she dedicated the rest of her too short life to helping innocent victims of war in both Afghanistan and Iraq. She created an organization, Campaign for Innocent Victims In Conflict (CIVIC), to count casualties, provide assistance, and pressure the US government to take responsibility for the innocent civilians harmed by US forces. She was on such a mission in Iraq when she met her untimely death on Saturday, April 16, 2005 in Baghdad.
Marla will be remembered for her pioneering work, and also for her unyielding zest for life, remarkable capacity for joy, and deep loyalty to friends and family. Marla\'s smile stopped people in their tracks and her optimism inspired all those around her. Everyone whose life touched Marla\'s is richer for the experience, and her spirit will leave an indelible mark in the world.
We also remember and honor the work of Faiz Ali Salim, Marla\'s Iraqi colleague, who was killed with while working to bring attention and comfort to civilian victims of the Iraq war.
To learn more about Marla and her work, please visit
http://www.civicworldwide.org
* In addition, for those not in the Bay Area, please participate by holding or attending a vigil in honor of Marla, Faiz and all of the innocent victims of war throughout the world on Tuesday, May 3. More info:

The San Joaquin Valley is one of the most polluted regions in America, by many measures beating out Los Angeles as the air basin with the worst air quality. The effects this has on our children, communities and economic health is staggering. 16% of our children suffer from asthma, three times the national average. There are more than 1,200 premature deaths each year in the Valley due to particulate matter pollution. Over $350 million dollars a year are spent in the Valley on cardiopulmonary illness due to poor air quality. To be part of the solution, please join us for the following Clean Air Action Day events.
Central Valley Air Quality Coalition (CVAQ) is hosting a Legislative Advocacy Training on Wednesday May 4th, 6-9:30 pm at the UC Center. A delicious dinner, childcare and language translation will be provided. This training will assist community members in obtaining skills needed in lobbying their legislators on the importance of passing air quality bills that help to reduce and eliminate the poor air quality in our Valley.
On May 9th valley community members will have the opportunity to lobby at the Clean Air Action Day in Sacramento. A free bus ride and lunch will be provided on the trip from Fresno to Sacramento. Another opportunity for learning and advocacy on the issues of air quality and environmental health will be held on Monday and Tuesday May 23rd - 24th in Sacramento. Scholarships are available upon request.

# Sat May 7, 5-8 PM Celebrating National Masturbation Month at the Parkway Theatre -- There are many reasons to masturbate, but probably none as important as pleasure -- so to welcome this year\'s National Masturbation Month, we\'re going to celebrate orgasm with Good Vibrations Founder Emerita Joani Blank and her unique movie Orgasm! The Faces of Ecstasy. Joani and her colleagues from Libido Video interviewed twenty-two Bay Area residents (male, female, and trans, aged 22 to 68) and then asked them to have orgasms for the cameras. Shot only from the shoulders up, the resulting movie is an intensely intimate yet non-explicit exploration of human sexual response, and you\'ve never heard anything as thought-provoking as their interviews. (Note for masturbation purists: a few orgasms in this video result from partner sex.) Joani Blank will be on hand to talk about making Orgasm! Faces of Ecstasy -- and she\'ll bring some of the movie\'s stars to talk about their experience getting intimate with the camera. Hosted by Dr. Carol Queen (who is one of the performers in Orgasm!), and co-sponsored by Good Vibrations and The Center for Sex & Culture. Parkway Theatre, 1834 Park Blvd., Oakland -- directions:

# As many of you know, Mother’s Day was proclaimed by Julia Ward Howe in 1870 as a call for women to promote “the great and general interests of peace”. I’ve copied her proclamation at the end of this email.
This Mother’s Day— Sunday May 8 --we are responding to her call for a “General Congress of Women” with an event at the state capitol in Sacramento. I hope that you will be there to reclaim this day and share your thoughts about how we can move forward toward Peace.
SUN MAY 8, 2005 4:00 P.M. Call for a GENERAL CONGRESS of WOMEN
We continue to honor the origins of Mother’s Day as we gather in front of the Vietnam War Memorial on the capitol grounds in Sacramento Sunday May 8th to declare “All we want for Mother’s Day is the troops home from Iraq NOW”. We know that all too soon there will be yet another war memorial – we need to make this our very final one!
We’re calling on mothers, daughters, grandmothers to join CODEPINK: Women for Peace, Gold Star Families for Peace, Central Committee for Conscientious Objectors, Mother Speak, and other groups and individuals as we embrace Julia Ward Howe’s direction to first “bewail & commemorate the dead” and then call for a “General Congress of Women without limit of nationality” to promote the “great & general interests of peace”.
Start: 4:00 p.m. at Vietnam War Memorial, Capitol Grounds, Sacramento State Capitol
Finish: 6:00p.m. with Circles for Peace
We ask women to bring our ideas for future actions for peace and to end war - such as the call to return our National Guard - and share with each other as we continue to build a strong, active women’s movement for peace & justice.
http://www.bayareacodepink.org
WEAR YOUR PINK, BRING YOUR MUSIC MAKER!
Julia Ward Howe\'s Mother\'s Day Proclamation - 1870
Arise then...women of this day!
Arise, all women who have hearts!
Whether your baptism be of water or of tears!
Say firmly:
\"We will not have questions answered by irrelevant agencies,
Our husbands will not come to us, reeking with carnage,
For caresses and applause.
Our sons shall not be taken from us to unlearn
All that we have been able to teach them of charity, mercy and patience.
We, the women of one country,
Will be too tender of those of another country
To allow our sons to be trained to injure theirs.\"
From the voice of a devastated Earth a voice goes up with
Our own. It says: \"Disarm! Disarm!
The sword of murder is not the balance of justice.\"
Blood does not wipe our dishonor,
Nor violence indicate possession.
As men have often forsaken the plough and the anvil
At the summons of war,
Let women now leave all that may be left of home
For a great and earnest day of counsel.
Let them meet first, as women, to bewail and commemorate the dead.
Let them solemnly take counsel with each other as to the means
Whereby the great human family can live in peace...
Each bearing after his own time the sacred impress, not of Caesar,
But of God -
In the name of womanhood and humanity, I earnestly ask
That a general congress of women without limit of nationality,
May be appointed and held at someplace deemed most convenient
And the earliest period consistent with its objects,
To promote the alliance of the different nationalities,
The amicable settlement of international questions,
The great and general interests of peace.

San Francisco Bay Area Support Rally TUES MAY 10, 12 NOON War Memorial Veterans Building in SF 401 Van Ness, between Hayes and McAllister, San Francisco (2 blocks from Civic Center BART)
http://www.CourageToResist.org
After refusing to honor their conscientious objection, the U.S. military will bring Pablo Paredes (in San Diego, California) and Kevin Benderman (in Fort Stewart, Georgia) before a military court martial tribunal on May 11, 2005. They face military jail, and forfeiture of pay and benefits.
On December 6, 2004, Navy Petty Officer Pablo Paredes refused to board his Navy ship and participate in the Iraq war and occupation.
On January 5, 2005, Kevin Benderman refused to deploy for a second tour of duty in Iraq with the Army\'s Third Infantry Division. At the same time seventeen other soldiers from his unit went AWOL, two tried to kill themselves and one had a relative shoot him in the leg to avoid deploying.
At the time of his refusal, Pablo said he hoped his protest might inspire other GI\'s to refuse to take part in the war. Thousands of U.S. troops are refusing to fight the war and occupation in Iraq. We are committed to asserting widespread public pressure in defense of GI\'s choice to follow their conscience instead of the dictates of the State. We believe this is a key way to help end the tragic war and occupation of Iraq. Please join us and do what you can on this National Day of Action for GI Resisters; organize a public support event, pass this e-mail on to your friends, family and associates, send letters of support (websites below), etc. Please send us a note letting us know of what you have planned: courage@riseup.net
COURAGE TO RESIST is a new group of concerned community members, veterans and military families organizing support for military objectors to illegal war and occupation and underlying policies of empire. We have adopted a people power strategy to weaken the pillars that support the Iraq war and occupation by supporting GI resistance, which together with counter-recruitment and draft resistance work can remove the supply of obedient troops.
More info on Pablo: http://www.swiftsmartveterans.com Kevin and Monica Benderman will be speaking in San Francisco on Saturday, April 30, 2005, 2:00-4:00 PM http://www.bendermandefense.org

BUSTAN speakers will discuss \"Development\" and the impact of \"Making the
Desert Bloom\" in the context of the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
The Negev, the southern region of Israel populated by Bedouin and Jews, is
plagued by divisions. There is a fierce demographic war with Jewish settlers
relocating to the area, a public health crisis from rampant industrial
expansion, and disproportionately high rates of unemployment, crime, and
drug abuse. Beyond camels, coffee, and carpets, Israel\'s exoticized Bedouin
minority has been divided by geopolitics and tribalism, and is striving to
withstand the forceful currents of urbanization and modernization. Under the
auspices of development, state-land use, stringent planning and zoning, and
selective resource allocation,
Jewish and Arab presenters include DEVORAH BROUS, founder and director of
Bustan. Devorah has spent the past 12 years organizing projects in Israel
and the Occupied Palestinian Territories to struggle against the Occupation,
and to promote fair allocation of public resources. Devorah holds masters
degrees in Israel Studies and Peace/Conflict Studies, with a concentration
in conflict management. Most recently, Devorah designed and orchestrated the
Medwed Project, a program which culminated in the construction of a
solar-powered, straw-bale medical clinic in the \"unrecognized\" Bedouin
village, Wadi el Na\'am, to serve its 5,500 citizens. Devorah has authored
numerous articles and poems about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and
performs spoken word. Devorah resides in Jerusalem.
For over a decade, DR. SALMAN ELBEDOUR has been researching, speaking,
writing, and teaching about the Bedouin educational system in Israel as well
as the psychological impact of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on Israeli,
Palestinian, and Bedouin youth. Dr. Elbedour serves as the coordinator of
the Urban School Psychology program at Howard University, School of
Education, Washington, DC. He has taught graduate and undergraduate courses
for seven years at Ben Gurion University (in the Negev) and Bir Zeit
University (West-Bank). Elbedour has published extensively on social,
political, health and identity issues related to Bedouin of the Negev and
Palestinian communities.
In 1973, DR. KHALIL ABU RABIA founded the Arab List for Bedouin and
Villagers, a Knesset faction that is currently part of the United Arab List.
Abu Rabia has been at the forefront of the Bedouin rights movement for 35
years working with the Forum for National Consensus, Peace Now, and Gush
Shalom. Abu Rabia has a Ph.D. in Islamic Law and is currently a lecturer and
researcher on subjects including Bedouin Muslim Law, the Relationship
Between Traditional Islamic law and Secular State law, and Spiritual Aspects
of Bedouin Land Rights. Khalil is a professor of Middle East Studies at Ben
Gurion University and Sapir College, a researcher at the Chaim Herzog
Center, and resides in Beer Sheva.

# TEMPORARY WILD ZONE 14th, 15th and 16th-May 2005, VALENCIA NEAR THE VALENCIA CITY, IN MEDITERRANEAN COAST (SPAIN) ANTICIVILIZATION GATHERING. We think that there can be two kinds of debates in the morning. First a debate that should be introduced by someone involved in the issue debated, as a way to initiate the meeting. After a short break, a more general meeting to share ideas and experiences related to the issue that has been debated before. In the afternoon we should gather together to share and know experiences that are working already. Later, the practical workshops. May 14th:Morning: welcome and the first meeting to organize the programme or activities. Afternoon: debating the development policy. Hold by someone from the Itoiz or another big infrastructure. Practical workshops. May 15th:Morning: debating the action and the ways to act it. Hold by someone from the struggle against OMG. Afternoon: International relations. The introduction will be in charge to someone involved in supporting the Papua people or the Mapuches. Practical workshops. May 16th:Morning: the possibility of making an international ant civilization web. Afternoon: General meeting to exchange and share. Starting the farewell. And performance neo-luddite. We have already set up some of the practical workshops: making soap, cryptography without computers, applied botanic knowledge, mankala, organic agriculture, energetic crisis, actual applications to spearthrower. Vegetarian food, with a vegan option will be prepared, and we are going to need help for making it. You need to bring plate and fork. And because we are going to camp, you need to bring your tent and sleeping bag. The night time will be for personal relations and fun. MORE INFO WRITE TO llavors@nodo50.org http://nodo50.org

# BURNING RIVER – June 25 & 26
Saturday & Sunday, 2 hours north of the Bay Area on the Upper Cache River
Can you imagine 100+ Burners on a fabulous, hot, sunny day on the river? We can dress in crazy attire, have water battles (Super Soakers are a must), chill out on the beaches and just enjoy being in a wet, tree-lined environment with amazing scenery right before our eyes. Once you are on the river, there is nothing to do but have fun and relax. All meals are taken care of and all gear is sent ahead. The most you have to worry about is loosing your paddle and having to swim.
At night, we can put on the Bling!Bling!, light up our e-poi/e-staffs while dazzling the natives by the river\'s edge. With a little coordination, we could set up our own cozy village with a community bar among the trees and deeply connect with one another.
If we get enough interest, we may be able to take over one campsite for ourselves (run the music, stay up all night, etc.) and have leverage to book a campground on the way for the preceding Friday night stay or perhaps negotiate discount rooms at the local casino for Friday night. Stay tuned for these opportunities…
This is an all-inclusive, family-oriented (12 yrs +/min. 65 lbs.) event so we encourage you to bring the whole Burner family and to post this announcement out to other Burner communities. The company running it has Burners on the payroll but the guests will be a mix of Burners and non-Burners – our goal is to make it mostly Burners!
The scheduled trip includes 2 days of volcanic river canyon rafting (rated class 3 but is mostly class 2) in either a 2 person \'ducky\' or a 4 persons raft. The $139 pp fee includes all on-river meals and evening entertainment, life jacket, camping fees, parking, raft rental, paddles and shuttle service. There will be some free tickets for those in our community who cannot afford this adventure but passionately want to attend.
