Come shop! Lots of great stuff - costumes, objets d’art, games, holiday fare, juicer, 4 person tent, camping gear, LP’s, books, baby & kids stuff, radical books, music, lamps, handmade pottery, quilts, etc.
It’s a BENEFIT to pay off WiRED's legal fees. WIreless Radiation Education & Defense incurred these fees while getting Berkeley’s telecom laws strengthened.
We are very grateful to the Green Party of Alameda County for supporting our work.
It’s also a celebration.
We celebrate for Berkeley (though the City Council has thusfar reneged on their promise to further amend the new laws, and the new laws are still too weak) because, after four years, most of the permitted antennas we fought have yet to be installed near homes, schools, and healthcare facilities (e.g. near the Grassroots House at Herrick.)
We celebrate for California because Gov. Newsom vetoed a horrid bill SB556 we fought so hard against (though he did sign another one we fought.)
We celebrate for the U.S., because our allies, the Environmental Health Trust and Children’s Health Defense, won a major legal victory against the industry “captured” Federal Communications Commission whose wireless radiation safety limits were proven (via 11,000 pages of evidence of harm) to be obsolete and inadequate.
