In 2005, the Cassini spacecraft made a groundbreaking discovery—it found a massive plume of ice and gas erupting from the south pole of Enceladus, a small but geologically active moon of Saturn. The plume is now believed to originate from a subsurface ocean of liquid water beneath the moon’s icy crust, with conditions compatible with life, as we know it. This talk will focus on our current understanding of Enceladus' plume and subsurface ocean, and on strategies to search in them for possible evidence of life.
Alfonso Davila is a Research Scientist in the Exobiology branch at NASA Ames Research Center, where he helps develop strategies to search for evidence of life beyond Earth. He also conducts theoretical and experimental research on the nature and distribution of life in Earth environments that are considered analogous to extraterrestrial settings. His work investigates factors that affect biological potential and biosignature preservation in those environments. He has been a guest speaker at international conferences and a guest lecturer in universities and research institutes in the US, Canada, South America and Europe.

This may actually be the only safe place to park in San Francisco on any night. Then you can enjoy all of the bars restaurants dance clubs and numerous sidewalk strolls stretches one block each direction from
Castro at 18th St.
Castro at market
Market at Noe
In the old days several of the big clubs would set up a door stamp at 9 PM and you could simply slip in before 9 PM to walk out and get this handstand then gain reentry for free all evening therefore you could easily pick one or two or three of your favorite venues to perform this operation Between 845 and 9 PM
You would not be wrong to want to explore Castro a little bit beforehand either on that night during the night market and or even another week or that night this month
Then I could explain to you some of the prime spots for example four of the venues have smoking patios
TOAD hall 18th one block west of Castro DJ north.
THE MIX 18TH ST. HALF BLOCK EAST OF CASTRO NORTHSIDE handstamp after 9 PM
The café south east corner of market at Castro at 17th St. need hands Stamp DJ and Vijay dancing huge club lots of trans clients and just everybody on Halloween hand Stamp after 9 PM
Look out market at Noe at 16th St. north east corner balcony looks over market Street and no way DJ dancing inside hands Stamp after 9 PM.
Pre-lockdown these 4 venues required a hand stamp for admission after 9 PM
Qbar lesbian dance club DJ Vijay Castro between 18th market West side hand Stamp 9 PM
Beau north side of market between 18th 17th
A.k.a. between Castro and Noe handstamp 9 PM
Yes all the best dance spots set up a handstamp station at front door at 9 PM pre-lockdown
Largely true all over SF
Plus another dozen bars and dance spots throughout

then when you hear the bike bells ding ding ding at 6 PM you know it's time to put down your joint and your beer and hop on your bike
6pm bikes usually ride SW market Street SW Geary NORTH to Union Square for three clockwise circles for all the stragglers and slower to catch up but then they either shoot off towards Castro or Ocean beach or mission or up Polk towards fisherman's wharf or the old Exploratorium at Palace of Fine arts to bicycle underneath the columns it's fun and Halloween is the biggest ride of the year used to be 1000 bikes in costume might be less now other days are fun too but Halloween is the best because with 1000 bikes you can blow through all the red lights as other bicyclists and or motorcycle cops will block off the side traffic to give you free passage then
Broadway tunnel Geary tunnel Stockton tunnel SF is so fun to fly through on a bike when you don't have to stop at red lights it's truly a small well designed city
Thin for two hours you've already previewed all the parties you're going to go to that night yet it's only 8 PM and you're totally alive charged energetic and ready to go to whichever parties you want to go to Halloween eve
